Criteria for the Applicants to the Double Major Program at the Department of Mathematics


  1. Criteria of the METU for the applicants to any double major program

  2. A minimum grade of BB from the first year Calculus courses (119-120, 157-158, 151-152 or 155-156)

  3. ranking with respect to CGPA


Students admitted to double major before Fall 2005 are subject to the following transition rules:

Students who have taken 271 must take Math 349 instead of Math 272.

Those who did not take 271 will take the following courses instead of Math 271 and Math 272:

(a) Math 251 and Math 349, if they have taken Math 156,

(b) Math 251, Math 252 and Math 349, if they have taken Math 120, Math 152 or Math 158.


If a student has the above mentioned grade from Math 119 and Math 120 (or 151-152 or 155-156 or 157-158) in their first year, then he/she will be exempt from Math 153, Math 154 and Math 115.
